Dr Dinesh Mehra

Dr Mehra has special interest in dermatology (skin related conditions). He holds a Professional diploma of Skin Cancer Medicine and Certificate of primary care Dermatology conducted by The Royal Australian College of General Practice.

 

Dr Mehra is not a skin specialist (Dermatologist) but has more than 7 years of experience in managing skin related conditions and cancers in Canberra. Previously he has worked at National Health Co-op Clinic, Gungahlin Family HealthCare and Ngunnawal Medical and Skin Clinic. 

 

Dr Mehra gets his clinical work audited every 6 months by Sonic Healthcare (Capital Pathology) and his diagnosis and treatment of skin cancers has high accuracy rating amongst peer groups nationally.

 

Dr Mehra offers following services and procedures:

  • Comprehensive full body skin check up to screen for skin cancers with a special magnifying light instrument (Dermatoscope), to detect early changes of skin cancer.
  • General Dermatology- treatment of medical condition related to skin with a particular interest in management of acne, psoriasis and dermatitis
  • freezing of skin lesions with liquid nitrogen gas – sun-damage area, skin tags, age spots, warts, calluses with electric diathermy of skin lesions such as skin tags and warts
  • skin cancer management with biopsies for accurate diagnosis, surgical excisions and with creams
  • removal of ingrown toenails
  • removal of common lumps and bumps including cysts, hemangiomas, pyogenic granuloma

 

Dr Mehra holds a Postgraduate degree in Anaesthesia from India. He worked in Intensive Care units in Australia for 5 years before joining GP training. He finished his fellowship from RACGP in 2015 and is now involved in supervising GP trainees.


During his spare time, he enjoys playing badminton, walking, listening to medical podcasts and spending time with his family.
